I told a friend what my apprenticeship is like.

And she went ahead and applied to AMW herself.

These are the roles you can train for with us

Warehouse Logistics Operative

What you'll learn
  • You'll receive, inspect, and store goods — from raw materials through to finished medications.
  • You'll check, scan, and put away stock: some things go in the fridge, some in the freezer, and plenty just on the shelf.
  • You'll pick and stage goods for production.
  • For dispatch, you'll pack and label shipments before handing them over to the logistics provider.
  • We have strict hygiene requirements, so cleanliness is essential here.
Entry requirements: Lower secondary school certificate.
Something to look forward to
  • Our warehouse is climate-controlled at 22°C. That means it’s warm in winter, and pleasantly cool in summer.
  • No heavy lifting required. The occasional 4kg parcel — that's about as heavy as it gets.
  • We'll prepare you for your exams. Tell us what you struggle with, and we'll look over it with you. You can count on us for that.
  • We're a small, fun team that laughs together a lot. We really care about treating each other well.

IT Specialist for Systems Integration

What you'll learn
  • You'll plan and set up IT systems — from individual workstations to the company network.
  • That includes installing software, setting up user accounts, and connecting devices like printers and Wi-Fi.
  • When something goes wrong, you'll be the person your colleagues turn to, whether a computer's stopped working or the internet's playing up.
  • You'll make sure systems and settings are always kept up to date.
  • You'll document your work. We will provide templates for that to keep things straightforward.
Entry requirements: Intermediate school certificate or higher secondary school certificate.
Something to look forward to
  • You'll be out and about across the whole company with your IT colleagues, since everyone needs you at some point. If you enjoy working closely with people, you'll fit right in.
  • We want you to become as independent as possible over time. But don't worry, we'll walk you through everything step by step.
  • If needed, we'll cover the cost of an additional prep course before your exams.

Chemical Laboratory Technician

What you'll learn
  • You'll learn to handle chemicals safely, including hazardous substances, and prepare a wide range of reagents.
  • You'll test various quality parameters of our pharmaceutical product at different stages of the manufacturing process.
  • You'll work with state-of-the-art equipment and carry out a variety of tests and analyses.
  • You'll process samples and analyze the results.
  • Because we manufacture medications, strict safety and hygiene standards apply; precise, clean working practices are essential.
  • You'll digitally document your workflow and results in detail.
Entry requirements: Intermediate school certificate or higher secondary school certificate.
Something to look forward to
  • You'll work in a cutting-edge, fully equipped laboratory.
  • As a specialist pharmaceutical company, we'll introduce you to methods and techniques you won't find just anywhere.
  • You'll learn at your own pace. Step by step. We won't throw you in at the deep end.
  • We'll prepare you thoroughly for your exams, and in the run-up to your written exams, you'll have half-days set aside for studying. Of course, we want you to do well.

Industrial Business Administrator

What you'll learn
  • You'll plan and organize workflows — in areas like Purchasing or Sales.
  • You'll contact suppliers, compare offers, and place orders.
  • Writing invoices, checking payments, and keeping an eye on costs are all part of the role.
  • You'll support the Sales team, prepare offers, and handle customer requests.
  • You'll work across different departments and gradually build up a clear picture of how everything fits together.
Entry requirements: Intermediate school certificate or higher secondary school certificate.
Something to look forward to
  • Our industrial business administrator apprentices rotate through many departments, spending three to four months getting to know each one in depth.
  • We'll make sure you're well prepared for your exams: You'll have enough study time built in, and if needed, we'll cover the cost of an additional prep course.

My German wasn't great when I started. But everyone was understanding and patient with me.

I'd only been in Germany since 2023, so I was worried about that at first.

Before I do something on my own for the first time, my colleagues always check in to see if I feel ready.

I get to decide whether I want them to walk me through it once more or whether I'm good to go.

There's a real sense of togetherness here. Everyone — and I mean everyone — wants to help.

Nobody's left on their own. It's the same among the apprentices. When new people join, we make them feel welcome straight away. You're part of the group from day one.

Every month, you'll have at least one one-on-one with your supervisor. If you'd like more, we'll make that happen.

At the end of each three-month rotation, you'll have a structured feedback session. Your colleagues will take real time with you to cover what went well and where there's room to grow. And we'll ask you the same: what could we be doing better, and what do you need?

If you're feeling uncertain ahead of your exams, we'll fund additional prep courses for you.

I love working with apprentices who are curious and willing to take initiative.

If you engage, ask questions, and think things through, you'll learn so much here. And don't worry: nobody's expected to have it all figured out from day one.

Our apprentices get the time they need to develop at their own pace.

Alongside an interest in chemistry, a practical, hands-on streak is a plus. If you're not sure whether it's the right fit, job shadowing is a great way to find out.

Start strong, keep growing — that's our motto in the warehouse.

At the beginning, we walk you through everything, so you get the full picture. The work isn't physically demanding. What counts more is precision and attention to detail, because at the end of the day, we're dealing with medication.
